The Cohen Bray House contains one of the finest collections of original decorative arts in the country.

 Here you have the chance to discover what is vanishing everywhere else—the tangible record of everyday family life, its style and tastes, in 19th- and early 20th-century California.

You can see cookbooks dating from the 1890s, ladies’ hats from the 1860s to the 1920s, children’s toys, embroidery, clothing, calling cards, and family photographs.

The high-end furniture pieces in the preserved front rooms are still in their original places as they were when the family first built the house in 1884.

 

Using the app. "CatalogIt," the items cataloged to date number more than 3200. We have more artifacts to add—our energetic volunteers are making progress.
