Garden Projects

Become a part of our weekly maintenance days when we attack weeds, remove fallen branches, rake leaves and tackle other crucial garden tasks.

We restored

 all the garden pathways  in July 2024

This garden still contains many heirloom plants as well as native plants that appeared spontaneously over time.

Replanting heritage plants and revitalization of existing plants 

Projects include:

  1. Removing  weeds 

  2. Adding compost and mulch to the garden beds.

  3. Purchasing and planting the replacement plants 

  4. Pruning and fertilizing the existing plants

Back Yard: Oak Tree Farm and Garden

The  back yard  is used for events and the school garden program. It has  raised beds for vegetables, a compost area, a kitchen garden with herbs, a flower garden with annuals and heritage plants and trees. The roses always love attention. 

 

The pollinator garden attracts birds, butterflies and beneficial insects.

Projects include:

  1. Turning the compost

  2. Fertilizing the roses

  3. Removing dead blossoms from flowering plants (deadheading)

  4. Raking leaves and adding them to the compost bins

  5. Weeding

  6. Planting and harvesting the vegetables
