Accessibility at the House
As with many historic locations, accessibility can be a challenge on our property. We strive to find ways to facilitate engagement with the house for those who have previously been unable to do so.
Lift
A recent donation of an exterior lift now allows access to the bottom floor of the house for wheelchair users and those who cannot use stairs. The lift is self operated and allows for access via the rear of the house.
Door Widths
If you have a mobility device it may be important to know how much room you have to maneuver. Most doors on the ground floor have a minimum clearance of 29.5"
Bathroom
Unfortunately, our bathroom is not currently very accessible for those with mobility issues. The door for the bathroom is 19.5" wide. While there are stability bars, there are not currently any transfer assistance devices. We hope to remodel the bathroom in the future to allow for more access.
