About the event
This amazing house is unusual because it has never been sold, just transferred to the Non Profit that cares for it. Too delicate to be a museum, tours are limited. Original wallpapers, carpets, furniture and wedding presents are still in their original locations, placed there for the wedding of Emma Bray to Alfred H. Cohen in 1884. Although the surrounding neighborhood has changed as you will see in the historic photo's and maps of the area, it feels like a time capsule. Tours are led by descendants who love to share family stories. Meet volunteers who are working to protect the house, its contents and property from time. You purchasing a ticket helps us raise money to do the preservation and restoration work you will be seeing. We have a long way to go.
