About the event

If you are fascinated by Victorian or Craftsman architecture, aesthetic interiors, Anglo-Japanese design, or simply have a love for old family homes, this is a must-see location. This distinctive Stick style home and the Craftsman style in the back rooms (which were reconstructed after the 1906 earthquake) give you the best of both worlds. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Alfred H. Cohen House and as an Oakland landmark, our nonprofit goals are to document the collections to learn and share more about their lives here. Emelita Cohen was born here and spent all 90 years living here, and we pay tribute to her with a new book of her memoirs available in our gift shop. This house is truly one of a kind, unlike any other historic home you have seen. In addition, your ticket price helps us maintain this beauty! The tour is…
