About the event

In this four hour training, 10 a.m.-2p.m., You will meet like minded individuals who also have a passion for history.  In a quick a slide show you will get an overview of our history and mission. See historic maps about the Alameda- Fernside connection and the Oak Tree Farm area. Meet the family who lived here in the Fruitvale District of Oakland from 1884-now.  Understand what "stick style" Victorian architecture is and learn how Charles Eastlake style was used to decorate this house. See our progress and learn how you can be part of the restoration and preservation of this house.


After lunch in the garden with your new friends, explore and learn about the property; the buildings in the back, and our wooden window workshop. The 1/2 acre of garden, has huge trees, heirloom and native plants, bee hives, fruit trees, flowers and vegetable boxes.
